The Heroes Have Arrived

One day the world changed
Bathed in emerald light
Awakening
Those with powers
Fliers and blasters
Super strong and fast
The heroes have arrived

From magic and technology
Others rose to help
Not trusting the mutated
Or the ones from stars above
A few stepped out of time
Each bringing villains
To the epic brawl

What purpose do these heroes have?
Mere mortals fear the truth
They sit upon the sidelines
Innocent bystanders of power
Unleashed upon the globe
One day the Great War will occur
Leaving superhuman cinders

I had too many heroes for an easy origin story, so I went with a poem to tell the past, present, and future of this world of heroes.  Maybe a little foreshadowing for one of my own stories too.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

This does not sound promising 😦 What about the good heroes? And, of course, fairies?
    Great poem, Charles.
