Today’s Prompt

I thought I saw you in a crowd today

I searched for you in vain

Were you ever mine?

Or was that only a dream?

I thought I saw you on the street today

I looked ’round every turn

I closed my eyes and imagined

I dreamt of you still with me

I thought I saw you out my window today

But then I remembered…you went away

  1. Great job Pamela. I could relate to the emotions your words expressed!!!

  2. Reblogged this on My Pen, My Sword and commented:

Wonderful poem by one of my favorite bloggers!

  3. This is so beautiful! And you tried to say you aren’t a writer!

  4. Love the poem. I think this can be said for any type of loss.

  5. Pamela,
This was special. I like the ambiguity at the end. “Went away” is what I sometimes say instead of died, in reference to my husband.

  6. So sad and full of emotion, well done.
