Hug My Brother For Me (Prose for Today’s Song Prompt)

My Darling Lara ~
This painful war has ended. By the grace of a mighty spirit, I will return to you healthy and uninjured. Hug my brother, for me, that he can know I hold no grudge and that we shall speak no more of this – on either side.
Keep your sights on Old Creek Road. When you see me, run out with your fiddle and your bright smile. We will mourn awhile but later we shall dance again.
Your loving husband,
Connor

I’m not sure how to do a random itune or you tube whatever so…we have all of our music on a memory key and I have fond memories of the number 555 so I clicked that song number to play and this is the song that came up 😛

  1. Very sweet. This post is going to stay, right? I tried to give you steps to putting a video in a post on the last one, but it vanished before I could finish.

  2. Reblogged this on BalconyViewz and commented:
Today’s prompt is to do with some random song and this is my attempt. Many more can be found at https://neverendingstorydepository.wordpress.com/
Have a a visit and a nice Sunday evening reading experience.

  3. This was so beautiful Ellespeth. Your prose worked so well with the music. I almost cried.

    • Thank you, Bradley. I think the Civil War must have been difficult for so many brothers – as some brothers did – more often than we read of – fight on opposite sides. I can’t imagine any of it, actually – or any war.

  4. Lovely, both your story and the song. 🙂

  5. Aww, that was so moving 🙂
