Prompt: Meerkat Mischief

Cheeky Meerkat By Dean Kealy

Cheeky Meerkat By Dean Kealy

He is up to something
You can see it in his eyes
While all others hunt
He decides to play
Chasing lizards
Gallivanting around
Unaware of the danger
Circling above

A familiar call rings out
The guard has seen the threat
He rushes to get home
As the shadow chases him
Winged death roars in his ears
And he bolts into the den
Feeling talons graze his tail
He won’t roam far again

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. Hooray! Somebody participated! Thanks Charles and great poem! I could very much feel myself as the meerkat running for my life!
