Where did Summer go? Prompt

Sand between my toes
Sun on my face
Ocean air lightly blows

Warm waves lap my legs
Gulls soar overhead
I need to be there I beg

To leave my cares behind
For total relaxation
An island of that kind

Cabana boys and deck chairs
Beach umbrellas
Colorful drinks and swim up bars

When did fall arrive?
Such a fleeting memory
Summer – when I felt alive

  1. Cabana boys!!!! WOOT! Hey, speaking of which…I had a terrible nightmare that Rod Stewart and Fabio (Ages now) Were trying to convince us to go skinny dipping. I have got to lay off the benadryl.

  2. Plus side, pumpkin pie, apple picking, Halloween, and fall foliage. 😀

  3. This actually sounds so delightful I really want to be there right now.

  4. Very nice Ode to Summer. It reminded me much of my youth in upstate NY (well, without the cabana boys and floating bars … more the “oh, summer is so short”). Of course, if you come to Florida, we have summer to spare 🙂

  5. Oh I can just imagine it all, lovely.

  6. Great work pamela ! Thanks for partaking! 😀

  7. Ahhh – what a lovely site to imagine – the closest I got to a cabana boy was seeing the latest Star Trek movie with my boys:) It’s all good – I discovered a serious liking for Benedict Cumberbatch!

  8. You had me at “Cabana boys” lol This is wonderful Pamela!! You are becoming quite the poet!
