Where did Summer go? Prompt

Where did Summer go?

Summer went by in May and June with final exams and a beautiful school prom. Then weeks of waiting for results day to come.

Summer went by in June and July with long sunny days and hot, hot temperatures. We filled it with sports. The crack of a starter gun and we screamed our support for the athletes. The sound of ball on bat “Catch it!” and a Howzat? From the boys cricket team.

Summer went by in July and August. School holidays filled with relaxing days and seeing friends, holidays and a trip to the beach. England won the Ashes and Usain Bolt was declared World Champion.

Summer went by and it’s now back to school!

  4. Thanks everyone, it was short and sweet, but I wanted to join in the prompt, I love summer.

  5. The like the pace of this piece and the repetition: the loss of summer made poignant.
