The Wayside Carnival

Submitted by Johnny Ojanpera.

Autumn Americana

Pocket full of clams

Darts tossed, bent tips, no win

Off the midway, I find a girl

Raven-haired  perfect

Vendor of gifts exotic

A blackberry in her hand

Given to me, sweet as pure

A basket more, burgundy lips

Dizzy sure, kiss of allure

As I wipe the blackberry kisses

The scent of crimson honeysuckle sets in

Offering her arm, I could drain the essence

Sucking pin-drops of nectar, persuaded, biting

Inviting, skin petal-soft, arousing

Midway invisible, my response lights

Her most sacred treat, more than eating

Cotton candy, she offers me

Her sweetest prize, sticky sweet

I lick and I bite, messy mouth rise

Made of roses and sugar, a man’s respite

This dessert I ate, then fills her, she agrees

Taking her from the gypsies, home, come please

I need no other than her raven-haired sweet

My days spent pleasing, and pleased alike

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. A tasty morsel – I love the imagery and the words. Very mouth watering;)

  2. Awesome visuals! Is it just me or is it getting hot in here?
