The Man who became Young Again – 1

I wrote this poem-story around a year ago. It’s divided into 11 parts,  (did I hear someone gasp 😉 )…so I’ll be posting a part every day/ alternate days here.

Um…yes…I know the title may be misleading…but this is NOT about “how-to find the Fountain of Youth”…!

Welcome to the land of dreams…

Alas!

A day comes when man awakens

from a slumber; a sleep deep

and finds his fame all twisted and awry;

his name all dusty, brown;

A day comes

when he sheds his fears

and climbs the attic once again

and searches deep within letters, books

that dream which he had deserted;

A day comes

when he yells not, for a sip of warm tea

but sits by the window in gloomy content

and looks at the trees as they sway gently

and sees life roll away;

A day comes…

when he awakens

not from sleep…nay!

But from his soiled ways,

and looks back upon his past so lovely

and turns back…once again…

Part two Posted…
