Prayer (Angst in Poetry Prompt)

A fire which burns
with the intensity to melt rock: that is our love
A pool of molten crystal
Reflecting the astral plane
in which we fly
Fly away from me love
only to return
in a different time and space
another lifetime
where all is bliss, we are blessed
as part of a dream
A fragment of promise, of hope, of fear
of everlasting touch
My love!  My love!
Chase away all regret
A moment of sparkling innocence
Give me this!
For you my heart, the crimson of my blood,
the iridescence of my soul
You break me again and again
Whole I am only
transcending the earth.
Bring us back, I pray
with helpless abandon

  2. “A fragment of promise, of hope, of fear, of everlasting touch,” is my favorite line. This one had pain written all over it.

  3. The imagery like ‘pool of molten crystal’ and ‘sparkling innocence’ is great. It really makes me visualize and fall into the poem.

  4. That last sentence is killer! Love this:)

  5. In one lifetime or the other…hopefully we work it out. Great imagery, Linda! BTW, how is that class going you were taking a few months ago?

  6. beautiful 🙂

  7. Very beautiful. I like the prayer format, works very well.
