Total Recall

I’ve not seen my family or kin
Long has been the durations

It only seems a minute ago
We began lifes separations

Caught up in our life’s employ
For want of board and bread

It is so easy to forget that our lives are more than toils

That others we love and miss, so quickly fail or spoils

It is the doom of man that we forget
Loved ones are first to go
Our own lives and loves suffer for want of self
But we seem the last to know

I saw my friends, that age and life have scarred
These are not the lovely people I knew, their countenance dark and hard

These strangers now have lost their joy in life
As we all have traveled far
Each on our many different paths
Mostly spent apart

I Look in the mirror at the older face That’s there
Wondering how we’ve all changed so much thru the years and wear.

My friends faces are creased and theirs eyes are dim
We Look alike in these ways

But I’m saddened for them and will Cry this day for the girls and boys I knew
I will weep as my heart breaks tonight
For these people’s lost spark and eyes of faded hue.

Do I Cry for my lined face
Do I Cry for the lost time
Or do I hold my dear loves close and hard to remind them that they’re mine.

About treyzguy

I am so full of self-confidence and crap that I would worship myself against my own will.... Under penalty of death.
