When I can’t sleep I try holding a pillow over my face like my parents used to do…
Still doesn’t work.

When my parents taught me how to swim tied up in a burlap sack full of bricks and kittens…
Still doesn’t work.

When the power goes out and I stick a butter knife in an outlet like my parents taught me…
Still doesn’t work.

My parents taught me to Jay walk to save some time…
That works, but cars are faster now.

My parents taught me home safety by checking the oven for gas leaks. Sometimes for hours.
I have an electric stove now.
I still love the smell of gas though….

My parents taught me to run with sharp things to build up my hand eye coordination…
Works sometimes.

My parents taught me that riding trains is fun! But I didn’t see why standing on the tracks to make sure they stopped did any good, the train only blew the horn and kept going…
Never rode a train yet.

My parents taught me to play hide and seek. I was so good it took them almost 3 months to find me. My dad cheated a little by covering me up in the hole I dug to hide in…
Never worked. Got hungry after a while.

My parents proved to me that if I jumped off a cliff like my friends I could get hurt…
It only took one time.

Parents worry you know…
