Most Days When It Rains – A Poem

Most Days When It Rains

Some days it just rains
all day
even when the sun is shining.
If it’s cold enough
it might even snow.
With any luck,
it might be Christmas.
Maybe you’re inside
looking out the window
through white lace panels
and a warm fire’s crackling
keeps you comapny.
Most days
when it rains
it just rains
and you’re walking on the sidewalk
and the tires of passing cars
splash water on everything
and you.
And you
contemplate going home
to start the day again
more prepared for the rain.

  1. Nice. I used to work in NYC and when it rained it seemed like a nightmare.
