Shadows Among Us

Shadows among us

Robed and hooded, in the front of the bus

Get in the back they declare!

With all of the anger and hate they can spare

Another one goes down

Good! They say, nary a frown

Bullets in a hail

Or locked away without bail

Why must this be?

Why can’t they see?

Anger and hate lead to a side traveled most

Gleefully they cry and boast

Taken down while walking

A white hood was stalking

With every life lost

When do we add up the cost?

A child lost his life

Due to fear, hate and inner strife.
