Fairy tales and story books,
And all the tales we’re told,
Battles fought by knights of old,
And warriors brave and bold.
Tales of love and kindred spirits,
Poisoned apples, missing slippers.
Tales that tell of fairy maidens,
Ogres, witches, black eyed ravens.
Tales of greed and secret woes,
Wicked aunts and hidden foes.
Island castles, tree top homes,
Swinging ropes and bevelled domes.
Tales that sing of daring deeds,
Quests and maps and magic seeds,
Hidden chests and demon’s lairs,
Buried gold and dragon slayers.
Tales that fill our childhood dreams,
Night-time travels, silent screams.
Waking wishes we keep hold,
To visit with those tales of old.
