The Hunger

The Hunger

I often have a hunger that engulfs me at the most inopportune times. It fills me with a need far greater than mere desire and can only be sated when I stop doing all else to focus exclusively on putting to words feelings and ideas gushing from the depths of my spirit, and offer them with love to the world.

My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 4 young grandsons. I manage a wealth management firm I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of 23 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children. In addition to my family, friends, investing, and writing, my passions include reading, watching classic movies, experiencing waves crashing on rocky shores, hiking in ancient redwood forests, and enjoying our small redwood grove and fern garden.

  1. If only I could stop more often to satisfy this desire.

  2. Reblogged this on Heron Moon: Education Services & Press and commented:
It’s not a bad thing if you are not (yet) filled with this type of desire, but it is a wonderful joy that comes with having something that fills you up so fully with satisfaction. Even small bits of stolen time to follow the lead of your practice (physical or spiritual, professional or amateur) are worthy of gratitude.

  3. Thank you for the re-blog. At some point it stops being optional for me to put off writing. An idea will flow so strongly that it drowns out all other thoughts and activities until I give in to it and begin writing.

Penny for your thoughts (we won't resell them)
